One of the handy features of Google Analytics is the “Filters” feature. Want to make sure your visits to your site aren’t tracked? Just create a filter for your external IP address[1] and you’re good to go. To setup filters you’re going to need to know a little bit about regular expressions. Another term for Are there really no hourly reports in Google Analytics? FeedBurner’s Site Stats feature isn’t something that a lot of folks are aware of, but I’ve been using it for most of a year and generally am quite happy with it. It gives a nice “simplified” view of traffic and metrics. When I want more, I dig into Google Analytics. While checking stats last night, If you use Google Analytics for web stats you might be interested in Google Analytics AIR beta. This is a slick little app that runs on your local machine (presumably anywhere that AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) can run. It’s easy to run, starts quick and feels a bit more accessible than the Analytics web interface. In I’ll be revisiting the Landing Page & Analytics topic again soon. When testing analytics, it helps to check filters. Turns out I had Google Analytics configured to filter out activity from our office connections… thus, my initial testing was completely bogus! |
