Google Reader Making Me Cry

Is it just me? Does anyone else twitch everytime the new Google Reader “Loading” animated icon shows up?
I find it intensely jarring. It literally is driving me nuts.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still using GReader. But geeze, that thing is like a steel rod to the eyeball every time I see it.

What else do you notice in that picture? Yep, unread count now goes to 1000+ so you can really know how far behind you are.

Oh goodness, “Google Reader Suffers Down Time” and panic ensues! Seriously, the article is from TechCrunch, was posted at 2am and bemoans the fact that Google Reader isn’t updating feeds. Even worse, the outage last several hours.
