For Firefox I keep both the Firebug and Web Developer extensions ever handy. Both have their strong points and complement each other nicely (in my mind). For IE(7) I’m partial to the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar. It is a pretty solid “mix” of the two Firefox offerings. Firefox Beta 3 I tried Firefox 3 Beta 2 for a few days (initial mention), but I’m afraid I’ve had to set it aside. I experimented with enabling assorted extensions but had too many stability issues — and frankly, Firefox without extensions just isn’t all I’m a bit disappointed to realize that my trusty (and popular) Quick Firefox Memory tip doesn’t do squat on a Vista machine. What a bummer! I’m looking for alternatives to that tip if anyone knows of any — a 200+ MB browser that never shrinks just ain’t cool. I recently saw mention of an extension called The IEBlog has an interesting article up today for an Internet Explorer 7 Update. Check out this quote: Because Microsoft takes its commitment to help protect the entire Windows ecosystem seriously, we’re updating the IE7 installation experience to make it available as broadly as possible to all Windows users. With today’s “Installation and Availability Update,” Internet Explorer Just to be a contrarian I’ve been using Internet Explorer 7 a lot lately. As part of that, I’ve learned to really enjoy the IE7Pro Add-on. However, since I’ve upgraded to the latest release 1.1, my browser beeps and disappears about once every 3 hours. Distressing. |
