Send & Archive
Gmail Labs just announced another great addition: Send & Archive. Now when you reply to an email you could continue to click Send then archive the thread or (insert trumpet sounds) you can enable this one to do both with just one click.
As an email inbox neat freak, I love this. Anything that saves clicks or key presses in my journey towards an empty inbox is definitely welcome.
Having clicked “Send” followed by “Archive” a few million times, I started to wish there was a way to just click once and accomplish both actions at the same time. So I decided to turn this idea to a Gmail Labs experiment. Turn on “Send & Archive” from the Labs tab under Settings, and you’ll see a new button in the compose form labeled just that.
The article goes on to mention a future undo option which will likely be helpful. A keyboard shortcut would be pretty groovy too…
