A few days ago I lamented the fact that my 4GB of RAM was only showing up as three. But hey, I was running a 32-bit OS so wasn’t really surprised.
Tonight I reloaded that machine with Windows 7 64-bit. But alas, I have the same problem:

I added memory to my laptop today. Went from 2 to 4 GB. Now, I’m running 32-bit Windows 7 so I knew I wouldn’t get all of my 4 GB…I never guessed I’d only get half of it though!

Due to the wonders of scavenging, my daughter is getting a “new” computer today. Nothing exactly modern, but I think she’ll notice the difference — and the home office will likely be a bit cooler too.
