Two days ago I gave up on Twitter. Yep, I quit and I quit publicly.

A month ago I was pondering social bankruptcy, but since then I really hadn’t made any changes–until today. The recent and frequent twitter outages have inspired me to give that service up cold turkey.
Outages = aggravation. Who needs aggravation? Not me.

I think Socialthing is a nice and low-impact way to follow folks in various social networks, but having to remember to lean over and hit F5 from time to time annoys me (yeah, perhaps I’m too easily annoyed…). Many people have heard of (or used) the phrase “E-Mail Bankruptcy” which was, I believe, first coined by Lawrence Lessig (Call it the Dead E-Mail Office). From the cited article:
