I thought I’d hit most of the potential VMware Player challenges by now (most recently network configuration) but I’ve been wrestling with a new issue for a while now. It was only happening on one particular laptop, but it had me thoroughly stumped for way too long. The install would go fine, but once completed the Sometimes you just have to give credit… Earlier today I installed VMware Server on a machine at work and then built a client Windows 2003 server on it. The install went smoothly, but once it was up and running I found I couldn’t get it on the network. For the past several weeks, my “main” home machine periodically loses any recollection of having 2 of it’s hard drives. What’s odd is that one is SATA and the other is an external USB.
