Pretty fast work – seems like I first learned about it back in October. If you do any development on the Microsoft Web stack, this is a great utility that will get you all setup and ready to go. Free. I mentioned Microsoft’s Web Platform Installer back in early October. It was beta then and a Release Candidate version was announced late last week with some nice new features. No longer is it restricted to just Vista and Server 2008, it now adds support for XP and Server 2003. Some new tools have been added I caught an interesting post on the Windows Server blog earlier today about the release of the Microsoft Web Platform Installer beta. This thing is pretty slick and if you do any web development in the Microsoft world, it’s something you’ll want to grab whenever setting up a new environment.
