In yesterday’s article, I offered a gentle reminder that Google Chrome isn’t the only way to “app” a web site. Mozilla’s Prism has been around for quite some time. In that post, I used WhatsUp Gold as an example of a site that works with Prism but not with Chrome. Turns out there’s a small wrinkle Today’s Challenge I use WhatsUp Gold at work to monitor our development and production environments. It works well for us and seems reasonably priced full featured (although I wouldn’t be adverse to looking into a comparable open source solution if anyone has suggestions). I’ve been using it for over 3 years now and hit Want to feel old-school and ancient? Go try to buy a pager. I monitor our production operations, and quite a bit of dev too, with WhatsUp monitoring software. I love it, it does everything I need now and stuff I look forward to figuring out some day.
