I think I’m about to be all widgeted out. Did you see that Google announced Google Gadgets on the desktop? What are gadgets? Just another term for “widgets”. So, my Opera 9 beta has widgets. Yahoo! Konfabulator is all about widgets. WordPress offers widgets. Google Desktop has to get in Based on some feedback, it seems like maybe I should move the more family oriented (aka personal) posts to another blog. I started working on that yesterday. My first big challenge was deciding on a theme and, as I tried different themes, keeping the information in the sidebar consistent. Then it dawned I mentioned a month ago that Yahoo! had taken over Konfabulator and changed the name to the Yahoo! Widget engine. This is a great example of fun technology. There are many many widgets out there that can do many many different things. An interesting note: Yahoo! has their own Widget Gallery now. |
