This post really doesn’t serve a purpose, but maybe someone who has solved this issue will spot it some day and share… Reloaded my laptop to 64-bit Windows 7 yesterday (which solved nothing) and found that caused a bit of fallout with my VMware apps – both Workstation and Player. But hey, I was running a 32-bit OS so wasn’t really surprised. Tonight I reloaded that machine with Windows 7 64-bit. But alas, I have the same problem: I’m very sad. Found a helpful KB article (The system memory [Note: See "64-bit isn't Always the Answer" for updates to this one] I added memory to my laptop today. Went from 2 to 4 GB. Now, I’m running 32-bit Windows 7 so I knew I wouldn’t get all of my 4 GB…I never guessed I’d only get half of it though! Bummer, huh? I might use this I just have to get this off my chest: Why the bloody h*ll is 64 bit computing so much easier with Windows than it is with Linux? How could such a thing be?!? Seriously. Heck, I’m a Linux advocate in most scenarios, but this stuff just makes me feel stupid. I have a home machine dual-booting Ubuntu |
