I’ve had, as of this writing, three days off in a row. For that, I’m truly thankful. I don’t want to think about how long it has been since that last happened.
Ok, not truly thankful.
What I’m truly thankful for is my family. My ever patient and understanding wife. My unconditionally loving children. They all rock. Hard. Seriously.
We had a very nice thanksgiving day. Just the 5 of us this year, didn’t leave town, didn’t have guests. The turkey was done to perfection and the supporting cast of side dishes met the challenge as well. My wife really has this routine down cold. 
After yesterday and today we’ve got the house all ready for the holidays. Tree’s up and trimmed. I got the lights strung on the house this morning. Just in time too…
… My folks came to town today! Always fun when they’re around. They were supposed to be here last week, but Ma had some medical issues. However, as far as I’ve been told, the angio-something-or-other turned out good and they’re back on the road. Things were tense for a couple days but all seems relaxed now. *phew*
