I finished Gaiman’s “Marvel 1602“ a couple days ago. I freaking loved it — and I realize from just a bit of looking around that this book really polarized folks. Apparently you either love it or hate it. I’m in the first camp on it.
Oh sure, I thought some stuff was a bit hokey towards the end, but the story was fun and engaging, I loved the characters in that setting and really loved the art of it all. Such fun!
I just noticed that there’s a follow-up titled, “Marvel 1602: Fantastick Four (Fantastic Four)” that I might have to pick up next and try. I’m kind of a sucker for the Fantastic 4.
I spent the afternoon working at the local library. Their little study rooms are awesome when I need a place that’s quiet and distraction free. (like a crow, I really do get easily distracted by bright shiny things) When I was ready to head home I made a quick spin through the graphics and picked up Gaiman’s “The Sandman Endless Nights” and the Marvel “Ultimate X-Men” books. I also reserved the next 3 Sin City books. I’ll go online later and reserve more Sandmans as well.
OH – and my reserved copy of Stephen King’s “Duma Key” was waiting for me too. I love it when my “to read” pipeline is nice and full.
