Sin City Book 4

Woke up this morning and thought the vertigo I’ve been dealing with for the past week was finally gone. Ahh, it was great — for about two hours. Then it returned with a vengeance. *sigh* shucks.

Finished another book last night. Frank Miller’s That Yellow Bastard (Sin City, Book 4). Wow! Yet again, another trippy ride into the Sin City world. I started this one when I went to bed and read it straight through. Couldn’t stop once it got rolling.

Like the others, these are definitely aimed at the adult reader. Rated “R” so to speak. Dang they are fun to read though. Now I have to get another batch reserved at the library.

Working on Gaiman’s The Sandman: Dream Country. Definitely liking it more than Endless Nights (I shared my thoughts on that one yesterday).

Also chugging through Hacking Web Applications Exposed (official site). Considering some of what I do for a living, seemed like it was time for a refresher course :-)

I prefer print books, but from time to time I go on alt.binaries.comics.reposts and pick up some OOP stuff to read. A while back I put together a bunch of stuff to burn to DVD for a friend of mine, and I still have it on my HD. All together it looks like I have:

-Gaimen’s entire Sandman run in the original or reprinted comics, so none of the extra stuff like introductions from the graphic novels.
    -All Miller’s Sin City novels
    -Moore’s Watchmen graphic novel
-League of Extrodinary Gentlemen vols 1&2
-Miller’s Dark Kight Returns & Strikes Again graphic novels
    -Marvels individual comics
-The entire Maxx run plus some of the other stuff featuring the Maxx character
    -Miller’s Daredevil run
-A marvel fanfare comic with a story by Miller
    -The Serenity comic

If you want email me an addy and I’ll burn it to DVD and send you a copy. Also, if possible, send directions for mailing DVDs because I’m not sure how to do that without wrecking them :)
Also I picked up both DC’s and Wildcat’s completions of Moore’s work for them today. Haven’t looked at the Wildcat one, but the DC one has some really good stuff in it, including ‘A Killing Joke’. I’m still looking for Gaimen’s DC completion.

Lately I’ve heard some good things about New Frontiers too. I saw Vol. 2 in the store today, but no Vol. 1 so I’m holding off.
